About Us:
HHS Group provide staff to homeless hostels where individuals in crisis can find safety and a path towards stability. We are currently seeking a Housing Support Worker to join our team and play a crucial role in helping our residents rebuild their lives.
Job Description:
As a Housing Support Worker in our homeless hostel, your mission will be to provide essential support and guidance to our residents. Your responsibilities will include:
Offering emotional support and a listening ear to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Assisting residents in accessing housing applications, benefits, and essential paperwork.
Conducting regular check-ins to assess residents’ well-being and progress toward self-sufficiency.
Collaborating with local agencies and resources to secure housing opportunities for our residents.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation of resident interactions and progress.
Key Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Previous experience in a support worker role, particularly in a homeless shelter or similar environment, is preferred.
A compassionate and non-judgmental approach when working with homeless individuals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of homelessness-related policies and procedures is a plus.
A sincere passion for making a positive difference in the lives of homeless individuals.
