Supporting the sector beyond staffing

At HHS Group, our connection with the homelessness and supported accommodation sector goes beyond the services we provide.

We believe businesses working within the sector should also play a part in supporting the organisations, causes and people that make a difference every day. That is why we sponsor fundraising events, support charitable initiatives and use our wider skills and resources to help organisations extend the reach of their campaigns.

From sponsored sporting events and charity dinners to CEO sleepouts and community fundraising, we are proud to get involved.

Sponsoring events that make a difference

HHS Group has supported fundraising activities for homelessness organisations including HARP, helping raise money to support people experiencing homelessness.

Our involvement has included sponsoring fundraising events such as charity dinners and sponsored sporting activities, including a recent marathon.

We have also sponsored participation in the CEO Sleepout supporting 1625 Independent People, helping raise awareness and funds for organisations working with vulnerable and homeless young people.

We were also proud to sponsor a charity awards evening celebrating local fundraising achievement, at which HARP was recognised with a share of mayoral funding in recognition of their work supporting people experiencing homelessness.

For us, sponsorship is not simply about putting our name on an event. It is about helping organisations in our sector raise their profile, reach more supporters and ultimately generate more funding for frontline services.

Support does not always stop at sponsorship. On occasion, our own staff have rolled up their sleeves to prepare and cook the food at community barbecue events, helping fundraising days run smoothly and giving their own time alongside our wider support.

Helping charities reach more people

Successful fundraising requires more than a good cause. It requires outreach.

Homeless charities and supported accommodation providers working with HHS Group can benefit from access to some of the wider capabilities we have developed across the sector.

This can include our Sector Research capabilities, technical knowledge and digital expertise to help organisations strengthen their outreach efforts.

Depending on the campaign, this could mean helping to:

• identify organisations, businesses and potential supporters to approach
• research relevant sectors, organisations and fundraising opportunities
• improve digital outreach and campaign visibility
• make better use of data and technology
• develop targeted outreach campaigns
• extend the reach of fundraising events and initiatives

Our aim is simple: where we can use our resources, knowledge and technology to help a homelessness organisation reach further, we want to do so.

More than a sponsorship cheque

We understand that fundraising teams often operate with limited time and resources.

HHS Group has developed technical, research and digital capabilities through our own work in the homelessness sector. Where appropriate, we can put some of those capabilities behind the organisations and causes we support.

That means our contribution can go beyond financial sponsorship. It can include research, outreach, technology and practical support designed to help a campaign gain momentum and connect with a wider audience.

Supporting the people on the frontline

Community matters within our own workforce too.

Frontline homelessness services can be demanding environments, and many of the people working within them spend their shifts supporting others through extremely difficult circumstances.

From time to time, HHS Group sponsors informal social events that give our frontline staff an opportunity to get together away from work, meet colleagues from other services and enjoy some well-earned time together.

These events help build relationships between people who may ordinarily work across different projects, towns or shift patterns.

They are also part of something we want HHS Group to be known for: looking after the people who spend their working lives looking after others.

Working together for a stronger homelessness sector

We are proud to provide staffing and operational support to homelessness and supported accommodation services across the UK.

But we also want our contribution to the sector to extend beyond the shifts we cover.

By supporting fundraising, sharing our technical and research capabilities, investing in our frontline teams and working alongside the organisations we serve, we hope to make a wider contribution to the sector we are part of.
