Life at HHS Group

Working in homelessness and supported accommodation staffing is demanding work. Our teams support some of the most vulnerable people in society, often at unsociable hours and in difficult circumstances.

That is why we make time to look after our own people too, whether that is getting together outside of work or making sure staff feel appreciated during the festive season.

Getting together outside of work

From time to time, our team gets together for a social night out away from the day-to-day. It is a chance for colleagues from different services to catch up, relax and enjoy some well-earned time together.

Team nights out have included everything from a few drinks and catching up to trying something a little different, like axe throwing.

Christmas & New Year surprises

Homelessness services do not stop over the festive period, and neither does our support for the staff covering shifts over Christmas and New Year.

On Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, we have arranged for dinner to be cooked and delivered to staff on shift, as a small thank you for the work they do while many others are at home with family. Two staff members’ reactions were priceless, and we managed to catch them on camera.
